So Surreal!

DSC_1301

I devoted the afternoon to fine-tuning my models wardrobe and chose this stunning wedding dress for Eva. This shot was taken by me, so pardon the lightings, angle & blah blah.

It's 'the day after' and I am utterly exhausted…We spent yesterday morning with our professional make up artist, Nici Tait (in her studio –thanks Nici, you are a star!) and Michelle Thornton getting ready to our adventurous photo shoot session with Joanna’s crew from Orange-Lemur at the Winter Gardens, Aberdeen.

The best word I can think of to describe this experience is “Surreal”. Emotions have run the gamut this week, a true roller-coaster event! Having only few professional photo shoot experiences before I had no idea what to expect. With this in mind, I've decided to give you a day random shots of happenings as a way to share my own personal experience . ENJOY!

I can’t wait to see the photos from Orange Lemur. Sorry girls, time doesn’t permit us to take single shoots, we will have another session soon!

A true learning experience, that was amazing, exhausting and unforgettable, and filled with a kaleidoscope of emotions and feelings! Katie and I would like to say big thank you to all and making this photo shoot happens. We look forward to seeing how our story continues...! See you all in our fashion show this Friday, 4th Feb 2011.

Le Pliage Arbre de Vie

Elite-Models-Fashion

In case you are wondering what is ‘Arbre de Vie’ (ah-ber-duh-vee) means, the ‘Tree of Life’ translated from the French lingo, a kind of evergreen foliage admired by the French.

Ok, to all Longchamp lovers out there, after a much awaited preview Longchamp finally releases the Spring/Summer 2011 the highly anticipated Le Pliage ‘Arbre de Vie’. This new design from the Le Pliage line showcases a brightly-coloured feathered flock of birds perched on a gracefully rendered tree that somehow occupies almost the entire space of the front of the bag. It seems as a beautifully-lain art piece on top of the bag’s sturdy waterproof nylon material.

Arbre de vie

Brightly-coloured feathered flock of birds. Isn’t it out of the ordinary?

I love the darker version of the Arbre de Vie too!

DSC_1261

The Tree of Life – expresses the joy and beauty of living

Unlike the other previous renditions of the Le Pliage collection where designs were printed on the bag’s material, the Arbre de Vie stands out this time simply because the colourful birds are actually embroidered onto the material, making it a total stunningness.

The close up of the real work of art. Look at that beautiful embroidery!

DSC_1268

The concept of embroidered fashion with the gorgeous ‘Tree of Life’ itself, expresses the joy and beauty of living and it is intricately designed to brighten up the day of anyone who is carrying this bag or amazing art on her shoulder. This is another addition of my growing collection of Longchamp bags.

Bridesmaid Story

Bridesmaid_Dress1

As we settle into the exciting new year, it is time to start planning those spring and summer weddings. One of my favourite details of wedding planning is picking out the fashion must haves for the day. We are woman, and girls, we can’t deny our shopping addictions, so I thought I'd help you out by showcasing some of my favourite bridesmaid dresses.

One of my favourite wedding photo

Ok, how do you choose your bridesmaid dresses? Simple silhouettes with clean lines? Your goal should be to compliment each girls shape and as long as your fabrics match (if you like it!) You can change up the style for each girl depending on her figure and her comfort level. You might also want to try to incorporate different colours of the wedding. Everyone knows that the bride is the shining star of the event, but make sure your bridesmaids are comfortable with their dresses at your wedding.

Do you like a simple silhouettes or more flowy lines?

two-bird-bridesmaid1

I love the flowy and feminine styles that are so prominent this season. Ruffles, flower accessories & accented ribbons add special touches this year.

Now, get to picking out your favourite!

Points to consider in choosing the right & perfect bridesmaid dresses:

1. What’s your wedding them? Do you have a particular theme in mind? Like fairy tale wedding, or even nautical theme.

2. Plan your bridesmaid dresses based on your budget. Try to consider your choice of dress is also affordable for your bridesmaids. Show a little sensitivity to your bridesmaids’ needs.

3. Plus size bridesmaids?
Pardon the pun in that subhead, but sometimes your bridesmaids have figure problems that you don’t. In those cases, you should try to ensure they are comfortable and look their best in the bridesmaids dresses you choose for your bridal attendants.

4. Shoes to match your bridesmaids dresses.
You want all your bridesmaids to dress and match the overall image/theme of your wedding. However, shoes are a very personal thing. Your bridesmaids’ shoes should be selected based on their style and comfort level. A simple way to do it, let them choose shoes to suit their tastes in an appropriate colour if you’d like, this will take the pressure off you. (Trust me!) Don’t forget to make sure your bridesmaids tootsies are comfy enough to dance all night at your reception.
