Let’s get the party started!

When choosing an outfit or dress to a party, you have to consider a variety of factors including if the event is formal or black tie, its location and time of day. You want to dress up, but not wear anything too revealing or overly ‘exposed’.

Christmas is just around the corner and parties are about to start. Every woman wants to stand out without blending in with the Christmas tree. (wink!) This coming festive season is a great occasion to look gorgeous and to pull out once more one of the fabulous dresses you might have bought earlier this year and which are still hanging in your wardrobe... or to buy a new one.

A gorgeous ‘Fioni’ crepe shift dress, with a nipped in grosgrain waistband and stunning waterfall drape detail from the shoulder.

A perfect work to cocktails dress! Fully lined with a concealed zip.

‘Florissa’ party and maxi dress, sensational dresses with a sheer chiffon layer that is dramatic and beautifully feminine.

The Florissa dress is a headlining piece from the limited edition party dress collection. Both are embellished with the signature black and gold sequins and is a perfect choice for any special occasion.

‘Frilled’ knee length pencil dress with soft silk satin top and contrast fitted black skirt with dramatic frill detail to shoulders.

After years of living abroad, I found the Brits and French really dress up for their Christmas parties (just a random observation). Gorgeous dresses for ladies and dinner jackets for men are usually the norm unless otherwise specified. What a challenge!

Irah Shift dress

The delicate shift frill and asymmetric darting at the waist adds a modern appeal to this classic shift. This dress is a chic addition to any sophisticated wardrobe.

This shift dress has a centred back zip with elegant satin detail and is fully lined. Available in 7 different colours.

‘Perla’ sequin dress, is a statement party piece sure to make you take centre stage. Embellished with the signature black and gold sequins, this dress is truly sensational.

The V neck line and grosgrain belt detail creates the ultimate sexy silhouette. Unique and sophisticated, this dress is an icon in the making.

If you want to be glamorous you can wear noble matters such as silk, satin or cashmere. A silk dress with some gold accessories and stilettos will always look perfect and classy. The length of the dress doesn't really matter that much but perhaps opt for opaque tights if it is on the short side. Much has been made of the new ranges of coloured and patterned tights and leggings on the catwalk but be warned: these are not the easiest things to pull off unless you are a nimble limbed 16 year old so approach with caution! I personally will choose some in darker plum or midnight blues to add a bit of interest to my outfit.

‘Geri’ dress has appliqué floral detail on the skirt trimmed with soft, floaty feathers.

Analee dress1

‘Analee’ stunning shift dress, in duchess satin, with contrasting obi belt. This dress will add sophistication to any event.

You can choose other bold colours that suits you. Both yellow gold and pearls will go perfectly with either red or black. Whether you are a modern and chunky kind of girl or more delicate and elegant in your choice of jewellery there is something out there to suit everybody. I will be opting for Chanel's classic black cuff with pearl and yellow gold detailing as a perfect offset to my black dress.

A dramatic folded stretch shift dress with a contrast twisted panelling and asymmetric neckline.

‘Victory’ dress is a stunning couture style, with full tulle skirt, a ruched waist band and a deep v shape at the front and back neck. This embellished style is adorned with black sequins which catch the light and make this a perfect party look.

You can also be more audacious in choosing your dress, provided that you feel good in it and you wear it "nude". That means with no accessories or just a few, with discreet make up and free hair. Our rule of thumb is, don't go for a look you wouldn't normally choose at an other point in the year. This will ensure that you will a) feel comfortable and sexy throughout the evening b) that you won't splash out on yet another "Christmas dress" that will never again see the light of day after the 25.

Happy viewing folks and enjoy the week Winking smile!
