Last May event ;)

NST masquerade

WEVents Anniversary in New Straits Time - 13 June 2011

I’m trying to backdate event that I’ve attended last May in KL. It’s the only one that I can manage to squeeezee my time into and would like to “unmasked” the social event organised by working women volunteers.

The WEVents's first anniversary held at Royale Bintang Damansara hotel was a successful night affair for all ladies to socialise, build connections and make new friends. It’s an event for women to let their hair down after a hard day’s work and just be themselves!

Congrats again to all the ladies behind WEVents, awesome job of organising the anniversary party. The WEVents was founded by Jeanisha Wan of J1 Consulting and the uniqueness of WEVents is that it is entirely run by women volunteers — women who hold day jobs elsewhere but contribute their time or resources after work hours to organise WEVents. It’s interesting to know when I first met few inspiring women that none of them get paid to organise WEVents. They freely volunteer their time or provide sponsorship in terms of products or services towards the events. It is all about having some fun after office-hours and at the same time, contributing and giving.

It was an entertaining night, guests wearing their own masquerade mask and we had fun watching ‘playing pretend’ Audrey Hepburn, Moulin Rouge, Tinker Bell and Cinderella. In honour of her strong support towards WEvents, Winnie Loo, the founder and chief creative director of A Cut Above Group of Salons was announced as the honorary patron of WEvents during the anniversary party.

Great work everyone! I’m looking forward to be involved in the next charity event this October, helping to raise fund to build a hostel to house under privileged school going children of RAYYAJ, Tawau Sabah.
